CRA offers our students the wonderful opportunity of a comprehensive education. Our advanced students have the opportunity to work at the barn helping the instructors with lessons and learning the ins and outs of our every day operation. All our working students are guaranteed either a free practice ride or a free lesson in return for their hard work depending on the number of hours they work. These students are an integral part of our team and we are lucky to have them.
Jessica Lee
Before I was even in elementary school I had been bitten by the ‘horse bug.’ My parents probably thought it was a passing phase. It wasn't until 8th grade when I started my first riding lessons. I continued to ride all through high school but stopped once I started college. Seven long years passed before I got back on a horse. In November of 2010 I found Cumberland Riding Academy and started working on my passion once again, riding horses.

Our Students
Bethany Dorris

Hi! My name is Bethany Dorris. I have been riding on and off, since I was little. I loved riding as a child, but quit riding for a long time because of other activities. About 5 years ago, I decided to start riding again, and can’t imagine life without it now. There is no place I would rather be than riding or at the barn. I ride both English and Western, and it will forever be apart of my life.
Gardner Fleming
Hi, I'm Gardner Fleming, I have been riding at CRA since the fall of 2009. I usually work Fridays but I am happy to help out other days as needed. I really enjoy riding, bonding, and just spending time with any horse. I would die if I didn't ride. I really love all the horses at CRA, I have ridden most of them and they are all different and similar in many different ways. I enjoy showing and all other fun times and the friendly atmosphere at CRA.
Jennifer Wood
Hi! I'm Jennifer Wood. I started riding when I was 10 years old. In the beginning I rode Western and then in college I joined my school's equestrian team and began riding English. I competed in IHSA shows in both western horsemanship and hunter equitation on the flat. It was a lot of fun! I started riding at CRA to learn more about jumping and I just love it here! I hope to one day have my own horse farm, but for now I am happy to be here and help out and learn!
